User Reviews
The following is a user review of the Airtact.
by Russ Sutton
I received my Airtact a few days ago and have used it about 15 hours and would not be without it. I'm amazed at how short the 'learning curve' was in adapting to it. After a few adjustments to the location of the 'flap' by turning the Palm [Touch] Element knob, I was able to engrave with a 120 degree square graver within minutes.
In the beginning, I tried to squeeze the handpiece to operate it, which is tiring and difficult to control. A relaxed grip combined with a slight push of the handpiece and rotation of the engraving block into the cut works for me. At this point, the handpiece seems to be an extension of my hand and operates without having to think about it.
The only problem for me is I haven't yet been able to stop my foot from moving but I guess that will come with some time. I'm a beginning engraver and I recommend the Airtact without question.
